Seed Starting Planner Tool

Our Garden Plant planning tool can help you determine when to get your seeds started indoors so they are ready for transplant in the spring.

  1. Use Add Plant button to create your list of plants from our database
  2. Enter the Ready By date. When you'd like your plants ready for sale or to transplant in your garden. (ex. For USDA Zone 4, I'd choose 05/25 as my Ready By date that's safe to plant the garden)
  3. Hit Calculate Plan button- Returned results will provide:
    1. Start Date when to plant your seeds
    2. Maturity Date when plant is fully developed for harvesting
    3. Preferred light conditions
    4. Seed Depth, soil pH and condition (loam, moist, dry, etc)
    5. Optimal germination temperature and humidity
    6. Optimal seedling growth temperature and humidity
  4. Use the Add to Calendar button to add the dates to your Google Calendar. Or use the Print button to print out your Plant Planner table.
