This year we tried growing Sage in our garden. Very easy with low maintenance, but we weren't sure what to use if for other than for some cooking dishes.
I recently learned you can make Sage Tea. A very simple recipe but it creates a beautiful aromatic earthy and savory flavor that's been a fall favorite.
Sage leaves contain carnosic and ursolic acid, which are diterpene's that have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Take 2-3 Sage leaves and place in your mug.
- Lightly crush or muddle to release oils. I use the end of the handle side of a butter knife or spoon to crush the leaves.
- Add your hot water and let steep for a few minutes.
- Pull out the leaves and add a touch of honey.
- Voila! Your tea is ready.
Try it out and let me know what you think.
