Sage Tea Recipe

This year we tried growing Sage in our garden. Very easy with low maintenance, but we weren't sure what to use if for other than for some cooking dishes.

I recently learned you can make Sage Tea. A very simple recipe but it creates a beautiful aromatic earthy and savory flavor that's been a fall favorite.

Sage leaves contain carnosic and ursolic acid, which are diterpene's that have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

  1. Take 2-3 Sage leaves and place in your mug.
  2. Lightly crush or muddle to release oils. I use the end of the handle side of a butter knife or spoon to crush the leaves.
  3. Add your hot water and let steep for a few minutes.
  4. Pull out the leaves and add a touch of honey.
  5. Voila! Your tea is ready.

Try it out and let me know what you think.
